Jan 15 - PLAY IBOWL LIVE AGAINST UP TO FOUR FRIENDS ON THE IPHONE
SGN's Most Successful Game for the iPhone, iBowl Brings Live Challenges and the Network Gaming Effect to the iPhone with High Quality 3D Graphics.
PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 15, 2009 - SGN, a leading social gaming company, has launched an update to its hugely successful iBowl game, so now iPhone and iPod Touch users can engage in a live bowling match against up to four people. The iBowl 'Challenge' menu allows players to face random opponents or interact with people they know from around the globe and see their friends bowl as it happens. iBowl is the number four free downloaded game on iTunes in 2008 with more than four million unique downloads.
In addition to new 3D graphics and the option to choose from three different bowling alleys, options include a 'Random Match' setting, or by selecting to join a 'Competition' the game simulates playing up to four people in a single bowling booth. These play modes allow players to see their opponents take a turn live or play in real time which then displays the scores and progress of your opponent. The new iBowl update is the first sporting game to enable real time, multi-synchronous game play for iPhone and iPod Touch.
"Since the launch of iBowl in October, we are proud to announce that iBowl remains in the top ten free downloaded games in the Apple App Store and has experienced 72% growth since December 2008. Building on our recent success with iBowl and iFun, we are expanding our collection of innovative social games for the iPhone and iPod Touch,' said Shervin Pishevar, CEO of SGN. "The overwhelming success we have seen with iBowl propelling to the number four downloaded free game of all of 2008 in only two months since it's launch in October 2008, demonstrates our passion for building engaging games for all."
Pishevar continues, "With nearly eight million downloads across all of our applications to date, we have captured the iPhone market with at least one of our applications on 15% of all iPhones and iPod Touch devices. We have established our position as a leader in social gaming and with the new iBowl update, we continue to engage people through the power of the network effect, across multiple platforms and social networks with new features designed to entertain all audiences."
The company recently enhanced the already popular suite of available games with updates for iBaseball, iBasketball and SGN Golf as well as launching i(fluff)friends based on the popular (fluff)friends facebook application that has one of the most dedicated and loyal communities on the social web.
